Countryside in the City
Guess where I've been to? Not very far. It's just the basement Orchard Central leading to Centrapoint. This house is fake but I bet you already know that.

Orchard Central Directory
I found this signage very interesting to look at. Check out the many levels of shopping available in the building. However, the place doesn't have much life compared to it's neighbour 313. The basement seems to have more patrons because that's where most of the food and beverage area can be found.

Chicken Noodle From Crystal Jade
I ordered this nice lovely plate of chicken noodles from Crystal Jade at the Airport. What I like about the place is the ambience. The staff were quite nice to bring me a fork and spoon because I wasn't too comfortable with using the chopsticks.

Coffee At McCafe
Ok, guess where I bought this coffee from? If you were sharp enough you didn't have to guess at all because the title says it all. It came from McCafe. I ordered this at the airport again. I'd say this would be comparable to Starbucks and Coffeebean. I'm not much of a coffee fan but it was ok. It's got a nice design on the top too. :-)

Onion Rings
I believe that Burger King is the one and only fastfood chain on the island that offers onion rings on its menu. It's absolutely delicious but the one problem is that I find the serving is too little for that price. I wish they could add more onion rings for that standard size order.

The MacDonald House
Surprise, surprise! There is actually a MacDonald House in Singapore but I'm not sure if this building is associated with the popular fast food chain. I doubt it or I would definitely see the famous "M" at the top of the building. BTW, the fastfood chain's office is located opposite Ngee Ann Polytehnic and that building definitely has a letter "M" on it plus it also has a huge fastfood outlet there.
And now, back to this story. The MacDonald House was previously owned by HSBC Bank. According to history, there was a bomb attack on 10 March 1965. That was a very long time ago when things were unstable. At the time of the bombing, the building had also housed the Australian High Commission and the Japanese Consulate. To read more about this history, you can visit wikipedia at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MacDonald_House_bombing
To locate this building, take the MRT to Dhoby Ghaut MRT Station. You'll see in along Orchard Road, just a few blocks from the Cathay Cinema Complex.
